Management Accounting and Cost Control
· Oversee the company’s costing system, ensuring accuracy and integrity in cost reporting.
· Monitor and analyse cost structures, including production costs, and identify areas for cost reduction.
· Specific costs to include labour, waste and other key operational costs.
Variance Analysis
· Analyse variances between actual and budgeted costs and assess the impact on the company’s financial performance.
· Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of variances and to reduce costs where appropriate
· Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing.
· Evaluate manufacturing performance against benchmarks and industry standards.
· Report on manufacturing contribution and strategies to improve profitability by product channel.
Manufacturing KPIs and Performance
· Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing.
· Evaluate manufacturing performance against benchmarks and industry standards.
Reporting and Analysis
· Prepare and present detailed reports on manufacturing activity and financial results.
· Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Corrective Action Planning
· Identify areas requiring corrective action based on performance analysis.
· Develop and implement corrective action plans to address performance issues and improve outcomes.
Staff and Team Management
· Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
· Oversee team operations, performance evaluations, and career growth.
Process Improvement
· Analyse current accounting and costing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
· Develop and implement process enhancements to ensure scalability and adaptability for future needs.
Strategic Planning
· Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
· Support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and recommendations.
Minimum requirements
CA or CIMA qualification (Essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance, preferably in the manufacturing industry in a JSE listed company.
Management and development of various costing models
Business process knowledge
Risk management and governance knowledge
IT literate, excellent MS Excel knowledge, familiarity with any ERP system and any integrated business analysis tool is a strong plus
